“I would think, like most first time renovators, we were a little daunted by the journey that lay ahead of us. We really didn’t know where to start until we met with Shaun. Right from the first conversation our concerns about so many things were put to rest as Shaun explained the entire design, approval and building process. From the very first meeting Shaun showed great patience and understanding as he answered all our silly questions. This fantastic level of communication remained a constant throughout the entire project.
At our first design briefing it was Shaun’s turn to ask the questions where he spent a large part of the meeting trying to understand our lifestyle and growing family needs. Right from the initial set of plans it was clear that Shaun and his team understood exactly what we were looking for and had put our ramblings into plans that exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail and the SLa flare was evident to see as Shaun and his team talked us through their design. As we moved from room to room we were amazed by the use of space, light and the ability to put our words into a design that reflected exactly what we had imagined and lots more.
Once the plans were finalized and the building began the team at SLa showed that they can not only design a great home but also have the practical construction knowledge to communicate with the builder to deliver an exceptional outcome. Renovating a 70 year old home has its challenges, this is where the SLa team were invaluable. As challenges arose they were quickly addressed without compromising quality or functionality. On more than one occasion I would sneak an early morning peak at the work from the day before, only to enter a room and find Shaun standing quietly in a corner reflecting on the evolution from concept to construction.
We have now been living in the house for over 12 months and I find myself appreciating the house and its design more and more each day. The entire process was an enjoyable one with an outcome we could never have imagined possible. Thanks to Shaun, Neva and the team.”
